The Sonnet Echo III Desktop Thunderbolt Expansion System (ECHO-3D-TB3) is a professional three-slot desktop PCIe expansion chassis designed to bring full-length PCIe cards to Mac, Windows and Linux computers with compatible Thunderbolt or USB4 connectivity.
The chassis provides one x8 mechanical/x8 electrical PCIe 3.1 slot, one x16 mechanical/x8 electrical PCIe 3.1 slot and one x8 mechanical/x4 electrical PCIe 3.1 slot. It supports three full-length, full-height, single-width cards, or one double-width card plus one single-width card.
Echo III Desktop uses a Thunderbolt 3 controller with four PCIe lanes and provides two Thunderbolt ports. One connects to the host while the second supports compatible downstream Thunderbolt, USB and display devices.
A universal 400W internal power supply supports installed cards, while a 6-pin auxiliary connector can provide up to 75W of supplemental PCIe power where required.
Sonnet includes an HDX compatibility mode for professional Pro Tools workflows. When this mode is enabled, the PCIe slots operate in PCIe 2.0 mode and Sonnet specifies chassis bandwidth of 1750 MB/s.
Dual temperature-controlled variable-speed Noctua fans are rated at approximately 17dBA, making the enclosure suitable for audio, editing and other noise-sensitive professional environments.
Sonnet's current support material lists compatible Mac systems with Thunderbolt 3 and current Windows/Linux systems with suitable Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 connectivity, subject to Sonnet's platform requirements.

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Sonnet Technology Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
