The Sonnet xMac mini (2024+) / Echo III System (XMM-SYS-III) brings rackmounting and professional PCIe expansion to Apple's compact 2024-and-later Mac mini platform.
The system fits a standard 19-inch rack and combines Sonnet's xMac mini (2024+) mounting module with the Echo III three-slot expansion module in one 2U enclosure.
The Echo III module provides one x8 mechanical/x8 electrical, one x16 mechanical/x8 electrical and one x8 mechanical/x4 electrical PCIe 3.1 slot. It supports three full-length, full-height, single-width cards, or one double-width card plus one single-width card.
The Echo III module connects to the Mac mini over a 40Gbps Thunderbolt interface and provides two Thunderbolt ports for host and compatible downstream connectivity.
A universal 400W power supply is integrated into the expansion module, with a 6-pin auxiliary power connector providing up to 75W for supported cards requiring supplemental power.
Sonnet specifies the system for Mac mini models introduced in 2024 and later.
