The Sonnet Echo II DV Desktop Thunderbolt 3 Expansion System (ECHO-2DDV-TB3) is a two-slot professional PCIe expansion chassis designed for workflows that need two high-bandwidth cards operating independently.
The chassis provides two x16 mechanical, x4 electrical PCIe 3.1 slots for full-height, full-length, single-width compatible PCIe cards.
Each PCIe slot is paired with its own Thunderbolt interface. When connected to two host ports with independent PCIe bandwidth, Sonnet specifies up to 2880 MB/s PCIe bandwidth for each installed card.
Two ports are provided per interface, supporting host connections and compatible downstream Thunderbolt devices.
The integrated universal 400W power supply supports demanding professional cards, with two 6-pin auxiliary power cables for cards requiring supplemental power.
Although the chassis uses 40Gbps Thunderbolt interfaces, Sonnet's current compatibility documentation supports appropriate Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, USB4 and Thunderbolt 3 hosts.
