The SymplyPRO XTL 8 LTO-8 is a compact 1U automated tape library for unattended backup and archive workflows. It combines eight cartridge slots, one half-height LTO-8 drive, two removable magazines and a front import/export mail slot in a rack-efficient chassis.
Choose native 6Gb SAS or 8Gb Fibre Channel connectivity. With eight LTO-8 cartridges installed, the library provides up to 96TB native / 240TB compressed capacity, with 300MB/s native drive performance, browser-based management, barcode automation, AES-256 hardware encryption and LTO WORM support.
The SymplyPRO XTL 8 LTO-8 is the entry point into the SymplyPRO XTL automated library range. It is designed for organisations that want the operational benefits of a robotic tape library but do not need the capacity, rack space or expansion architecture of the larger XTL 24, XTL 40 or XTL 80 systems.
The 1U chassis provides eight active tape slots, one half-height LTO-8 drive, two removable four-cartridge magazines and a dedicated import/export mail slot. LTO-8 media stores 12TB native / 30TB compressed per cartridge, giving a fully populated XTL 8 up to 96TB native / 240TB compressed capacity. The half-height LTO-8 mechanism delivers up to 300MB/s native throughput.
Host connectivity is native rather than proprietary: select 6Gb SAS via SFF-8088 or 8Gb Fibre Channel. The library presents the tape drive and robotic medium changer using separate LUNs, so the host HBA or initiator must support multiple-LUN discovery. Once connected, administration can be handled locally from the front panel or remotely through the password-protected browser interface, with inventory/health reporting, event logging, firmware management and email/SNMP alerting.
For archive and cyber-resilience workflows, XTL 8 supports LTO hardware encryption, WORM media and removable magazines that can be physically separated from the system for offline or off-site storage. LTFS and leading backup/archive applications are supported when used with compatible host software. Choose XTL 8 when you need genuine unattended LTO automation in the smallest rack footprint; step up to XTL 24 when 24 slots, a second half-height drive position or integrated 10GbE/Thunderbolt options are required.

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Symply Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
