The SymplyPRO XTL 80 is a modular 6U automated tape library for enterprise backup, long-term retention and offline archives. This configuration includes one half-height LTO-7 drive, 80 cartridge slots and a native 6Gb SAS (SFF-8088) connection for compatible SAS hosts.
Each LTO-7 tape holds 6TB native or up to 15TB compressed. With 80 compatible cartridges loaded, the base library provides up to 480TB native / 1.2PB compressed capacity (2.5:1 compression assumption), with expansion available to 560 slots.

The SymplyPRO XTL 80 brings automated LTO tape storage to professional backup and archive workflows. The 6U base module holds 80 cartridges and comes in this configuration with one half-height LTO-7 drive and native 6Gb SAS (SFF-8088) connectivity. It is designed for organisations that need managed tape rotation, offline copies and an expandable archive platform.
LTO-7 Capacity and Performance
A compatible LTO-7 cartridge stores 6TB natively or up to 15TB with a 2.5:1 compression assumption. A fully loaded 80-slot base module therefore offers up to 480TB native or 1.2PB compressed media capacity. The installed half-height drive transfers up to 300MB/s natively; actual results depend on the host, software, media and workload.
Automated Media Handling
Library robotics, an integrated barcode reader, two removable tape magazines and ten import/export mail slots per module help streamline tape inventory and movement. Front-panel operation and password-protected browser administration support library monitoring, configuration, diagnostics and media handling without manual cartridge-by-cartridge intervention.
Modular Capacity and Resilience
The XTL 80 can grow from one 6U, 80-slot base module to a maximum of seven modules and 560 cartridge slots. The supplied configuration has one half-height LTO-7 drive. The modular chassis provides capacity for up to six half-height or three full-height drives per module when expanded with compatible additional hardware. Redundant power supplies are standard in the XTL 80 platform.
SAS Integration and Archive Protection
The installed 6Gb SAS (SFF-8088) drive connects to compatible host hardware and tape backup or archive software. The tape drive and library robotics are presented as separate logical units, so the host must discover both. Hardware AES-256 encryption, LTO WORM media and LTFS provide further options for controlled long-term retention when supported by the selected media and applications.

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Symply Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
