The Quantum LTO-6 Data Cartridge (MR-L6MQN-01) is a standard rewritable LTO-6 Ultrium cartridge designed for dependable backup, archive and offline data retention. Quantum identifies this exact order number as rewritable LTO-6 media rather than WORM media.
LTO-6 provides 2.5 TB native capacity and up to 6.25 TB compressed capacity, based on 2.5:1 compression.
MR-L6MQN-01 is rewritable media. Quantum's LTO-6 WORM cartridge is a separate product, MR-L6MQN-02, intended for Write Once, Read Many workflows where previously written data must not be overwritten.
The exact MR-L6MQN-01 cartridge is specified with 846 m (2,776 ft) of tape and the standard 12.65 mm Ultrium tape width. Its Ultrium cartridge form factor is designed for compatible stand-alone drives and tape-library automation.
Quantum lists MR-L6MQN-01 as read/write LTO-6 media for LTO-6 drives. Always follow the drive manufacturer's generation-compatibility guidance when using older or newer LTO media.
Quantum's recommended LTO-5 through LTO-8 storage environment is 16 to 25 °C with 20 to 50% relative humidity (non-condensing). Proper handling and storage support long-term archival reliability.
For reliable operation, cartridges should be protected from shock, moisture, magnetic fields and contamination, stored vertically in protective cases, and allowed to acclimatise before use when moved between different environments.
