Quantum LTO-9 Data Cartridge – Product Overview
The Quantum LTO-9 Ultrium Data Cartridge (SKU MR-L9MQN-01) is a high-density LTO Ultrium cartridge designed for enterprise backup and long-term archiving. It provides the capacity, durability and library integration expected for automated tape environments.
This cartridge is part of Quantum’s LTO Ultrium media family and is manufactured and tested to support reliable long-term storage and media integrity analysis.
Capacity And Compression
The LTO-9 cartridge delivers 18 TB native capacity and 45 TB compressed capacity based on 2.5:1 compression. This density is intended for organisations that need to store large volumes of data offline for backup or archive.
Durability And Archival Life
Quantum specifies up to 30-year archival life for LTO Ultrium media when stored within the recommended environmental envelope, making the cartridge suitable for deep-archive retention policies.
Memory Chip And Library Integration
A high-durability, non-contact IC memory chip (up to 16 KB) is built into the cartridge to improve tape library access and support media health reporting and management.
Dimensions And Media
Tape length for LTO-9 is 960 m (3,150 ft) on a 12.65 mm (0.50 in) wide medium; cartridge dimensions are 21.5 mm x 105.4 mm x 102.0 mm (0.85 in x 4.15 in x 4.02 in), suitable for automation and manual handling.
Environmental And Storage
Recommended operational/storage dry-bulb temperature for LTO-9 is 15 to 25 °C (59 to 77 °F) with 20 to 50% relative humidity (non-condensing). An allowable operational envelope is defined as 15 to 35 °C and 20 to 80% RH for shorter-term use, and a shipping range of -23 to 49 °C and 5 to 80% RH.
Packaging And Labelling
Bar code labelling and library packaging options are available to speed loading into automation slots and trays while reducing waste and manual preparation time.
Compliance And Media Analysis
The cartridge is compliant with media integrity analysis utilities and supports features for media analysis and usage reporting to help manage pools of media over their lifecycle.
Warranty And Support
Quantum LTO Ultrium cartridges are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and manufacturing for the original end-user purchaser; further support information is available from Quantum.
