The SymplyPRO XTF LTO-9 FH Ethernet Tape Drive places an enterprise full-height LTO-9 mechanism behind Symply's accelerated 10GbE iSCSI-to-SAS architecture. It is designed for environments where multiple physical or virtual hosts need access to tape without a dedicated SAS HBA or Fibre Channel infrastructure.
Two independent 10GbE SFP+ interfaces provide network host connectivity. Compatible iSCSI initiators can securely access the tape resource over standard Ethernet infrastructure, making the system suitable for shared backup and archive workflows.
A 12Gb mini-SAS HD SFF-8644 expansion connection allows additional compatible SAS LTO resources to be attached, extending the appliance beyond its integrated drive.
The integrated LTO-9 drive delivers 18TB native / 45TB compressed per cartridge and up to 400MB/s native throughput. It also reads and writes LTO-8 media, with full-height LTO-8 operation supported at up to 360MB/s native.
LTFS supports open file-based tape workflows, while AES-256 hardware encryption, LTO WORM media and removable offline cartridges support long-term retention and ransomware-resilient archive strategies.
The XTF LTO-9 Ethernet enclosure measures approximately 30 × 21.1 × 13.6cm and weighs around 6.4kg. It uses a premium integrated power supply, active cooling and a robust metal-alloy chassis.
The appliance is designed for compatible Windows, Linux and macOS iSCSI environments and leading LTO-aware backup/archive software including Veeam, Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Archiware P5, Hedge Canister, YoYotta and XenData.
