The SymplyPRO LTO-9 HH Thunderbolt 3 / SAS Tape Drive is a desktop half-height LTO-9 tape drive supplied with dual Thunderbolt 3 ports and SFF-8644 SAS connectivity for workstation and studio workflows.
It is engineered for high-capacity, low-cost long-term storage and straightforward tape interchange, with LTFS support and macOS utilities to simplify tape operations.
Compact all-metal desktop enclosure with integrated premium PSU and efficient cooling for sustained studio and comms-room use.
Two Thunderbolt™ 3 host ports (SymplyLOCK™ cable locking) with daisy-chain support and one port supplying up to 60W charging; SFF-8644 SAS Host and SAS Expansion available via the Thunderbolt bridge for non-Thunderbolt workstations and additional SAS devices.
Supports Linear Tape File System (LTFS) for drag-and-drop tape mounting and interchange; on macOS, SymplyATOM™ provides format, mount/eject LTFS, one-click diagnostics, log capture and in-app firmware updates.
Half-height LTO-9 native performance and capacity are specified at 300 MB/Sec (750 MB/Sec compressed) and 18 TB native (45 TB compressed) per cartridge (assumes 2.5:1 compression).
Hardware AES-256 encryption and support for LTO WORM media enable enforceable retention and protection of archived data; unit meets CE, UKCA, FCC Class A and RoHS standards.
Half-height drive reliability is specified as MTBF 250,000 @ 100% Duty Cycle, MSBF 100,000 and 80,000 load/unload cycles; premium packaging and included consumables enable immediate deployment.
Product configuration as a PRO Thunderbolt half-height single-drive system with host interface “2 x TB3 1 x SFF-8644”, expansion interface “1 x SFF-8644”, dimensions 27.5 x 21.1 x 9.2 cm (11 x 8.5 x 3.5 in) and weight 4.0 kg (8.8 lb).
