The SymplyPRO XTF LTO-10 FH Ethernet Tape Drive combines current-generation full-height LTO-10 with Symply's accelerated 10GbE iSCSI architecture, providing professional tape access across standard Ethernet infrastructure without requiring a local SAS HBA.
Two independent 10GbE SFP+ data ports allow compatible physical and virtual hosts to access the tape appliance over Ethernet. This provides a flexible alternative to direct-attached SAS or Fibre Channel for shared backup and archive environments.
A 12Gb mini-SAS HD SFF-8644 expansion interface supports connection of additional compatible SAS tape resources, extending the integrated appliance architecture.
Standard LTO-10 cartridges provide 30TB native / 75TB compressed capacity. LTO-10 Enterprise cartridges using aramid base film increase this to 40TB native / 100TB compressed while remaining compatible with existing LTO-10 drives.
The full-height LTO-10 mechanism provides native throughput up to 400MB/s. LTO-10 is not backwards compatible with LTO-9 media, so migration planning should account for generation-specific media compatibility.
LTFS enables file-based tape operation, while AES-256 hardware encryption and LTO WORM media support secure retention, compliance and offline cyber-resilience workflows.
The LTO-10 Ethernet XTF uses Symply's larger current full-height enclosure, measuring approximately 38.2 × 22.1 × 14.0cm and weighing around 7.8kg, with integrated power and active cooling.
