Sonnet Solo2.5G PCIe Card – Product Overview
The Sonnet Solo2.5G PCIe Card, part number G2A5E-1X-E, is a compact low-profile Ethernet adapter for adding multi-Gigabit copper networking to a compatible computer.
Its standard RJ45 interface works with widely available Cat 5e or better cabling, providing an economical step beyond Gigabit Ethernet without requiring optical transceivers or specialist cabling.
2.5 Gigabit Ethernet
Solo2.5G supports 2.5GBASE-T at up to 2.5Gb/s and automatically supports 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet and 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet for compatibility with lower-speed network infrastructure.
Up To 100 Metres Over Cat 5e
Sonnet specifies network distances up to 100 metres using Cat 5e or better cabling, making the card suitable for conventional structured copper Ethernet installations.
Realtek 8125B Controller
The card uses a Realtek 8125B 2.5GbE controller and supports jumbo frames with a maximum packet size of up to 16,128 bytes.
Compact PCIe x1 Installation
The low-profile card uses a PCI Express 2.1 x1 bus interface and therefore consumes only a single PCIe lane. Both full-height and low-profile mounting brackets are supplied.
Current Windows And Linux Support
Sonnet currently lists compatibility with Windows 11 and Linux systems using kernel 6.6, 6.12, 6.18 or later, subject to the host computer having an available compatible PCIe slot.

Sonnet Technology Delivery Information
Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Sonnet Technology Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
