The Areca ARC-1886-4X8I is a PCIe Gen 4.0 tri-mode RAID adapter with platform RAID features and 8GB DDR4-2666 ECC on-board cache.
It supports mixed SAS, SATA and NVMe devices, including up to 32 NVMe drives via PCIe switches and up to (512) SAS/SATA devices via expanders.
Management and monitoring are provided through McRAID Storage Manager, McBIOS and CLI tools, with enclosure management and hardware encryption support.

Areca ARC-1886-4X8I Product Overview
The Areca ARC-1886-4X8I is a PCIe Gen 4.0 tri-mode RAID adapter designed for mixed SAS, SATA and NVMe storage environments. It combines an 8-Lane PCI Express® 4.0 host interface with a Tri-Mode ROC and on-board ECC cache to support high-performance database and enterprise workloads.
The adapter supports advanced RAID features, wide OS compatibility and a suite of management utilities for configuration and monitoring in datacentre and server applications.
Performance and Architecture
Powered by a Tri-Mode Dual Core ARM A15 1.6GHz ROC and an 8-Lane PCI Express® 4.0 host interface, the ARC-1886-4X8I delivers hardware RAID processing with 8GB on-board DDR4-2666 SDRAM with ECC protection.
Cache And Data Protection
On-board cache is 8GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM with ECC protection and the adapter supports an optional cache backup module (ARC-1886-CBM) to protect cached data using SuperCap.
Connectivity And Connectors
Drive ports are tri-mode and support 12Gb/s SAS, 6Gb/s SATA and Gen 4.0 PCIe (NVMe); the adapter lists drive connectors as 1 x SFF-8654 [x8] and 2 x SFF-8644 [x4].
Drive And Expansion Support
The adapter supports up to 32 NVMe drives through PCIe switches and up to (512) 12Gb/s SAS, SATA or SSD drives using 12Gb/s SAS expanders.
RAID Features

Areca Technology Delivery Information
In general, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on Areca equipment orders placed before 2pm (subject to stock availability).
We kindly advise you let us preconfigure each Areca RAID (as RAID5, RAID6 etc), so they arrive properly setup, ready to “plug’n’play”.
This is a free service, and takes 1-2 days prior to shipping.
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
Orders placed after 2pm on Fridays and on weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
