Areca ARC-1886-8i Product Overview
The Areca ARC-1886-8I is an internal 8-port PCIe Gen 4.0 Tri-Mode RAID adapter engineered for demanding storage applications. It combines a dual-core ROC, on-board DDR4 cache and tri-mode drive interfaces to support mixed SAS/SATA and NVMe storage configurations.
Built for scale and resilience, the ARC-1886-8I supports extensive RAID functions, enclosure management and optional cache backup to protect data during power events.
Performance and Controller
Tri-Mode Dual Core ARM A15 1.6GHz ROC and 8GB on-board DDR4-2666 SDRAM with ECC Protection provide the processing and cache required for performance-sensitive database and IT workloads.
Host Interface
Host Bus Interface is 8-Lane PCI Express® 4.0 to deliver Gen 4.0 connectivity to the server platform.

Physical Ports: 8 x internal. Drive Connectors: 1 x SFF-8654 [x8]. The adapter is configured with x8 SFF-8654 internal connectors for maximum performance and connectivity.
Drive Support and Expandability
Supports up to 512 12Gb/s SAS or 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s SAS/SATA HDDs/SSDs using 12Gb/s SAS expanders, and supports up to 32 NVMe drives through the PCIe switches.
Supported RAID Levels and Data Protection
Supported RAID Levels include 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 30, 50, 60, Single Disk or JBOD, with additional features such as Multiple RAID 0 and RAID 10(1E) support, RAID 1 multi-mirroring and mirrored pass-through disk.
Cache and Backup
Cache Memory is 8GB on-board DDR4-2666 SDRAM with ECC Protection. Cache protection is provided by the optional ARC-1886-CBM cache backup module and the adapter supports read/write cache allocation by policy.

Includes UBM, SES2, SMP and SGPIO enclosure management, an onboard Ethernet port for NTP synchronization, global HDD activity/fault connector, individual fault connector, LCD/I²C connector and alarm buzzer, and supports SNMP and SMTP notifications.

Areca Technology Delivery Information
In general, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on Areca equipment orders placed before 2pm (subject to stock availability).
We kindly advise you let us preconfigure each Areca RAID (as RAID5, RAID6 etc), so they arrive properly setup, ready to “plug’n’play”.
This is a free service, and takes 1-2 days prior to shipping.
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
Orders placed after 2pm on Fridays and on weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
