The SymplyPRO Rackmount 1U LTO-7 HH SAS Tape Drive combines a professional 1RU chassis with one fitted half-height LTO-7 tape mechanism. It is intended for server and workstation backup, long-term media archiving and removable offline storage through a direct SAS connection.
The LTO-7 SAS edition uses an SFF-8088 host interface. Connect it to a compatible SAS host bus adapter; unlike the separate Thunderbolt and Ethernet versions, this configuration does not offer either of those host connections.
Each LTO-7 cartridge stores 6TB natively, or up to 15TB compressed when the data supports a 2.5:1 compression ratio. Native drive throughput is up to 300MB/s. LTO-7 media and LTO-6 media can be read and written, while LTO-5 media is read-only. LTFS, WORM-capable cartridges and AES-256 hardware encryption support suitable professional archive workflows.
This configuration includes one half-height LTO-7 drive, not two, in a dual-position 1U enclosure. SymplyCABLELESS™ architecture facilitates service and addition of a separately purchased compatible second drive. The metal enclosure includes an internal power supply, cooling and rackmount provision.
