The IBM LTO-8 Tape Cartridge is a rewritable LTO Ultrium 8 data cartridge designed for high-capacity backup, archive and long-term offline data retention.
IBM part number 01PL041 provides 12TB of native capacity and up to 30TB compressed capacity using the LTO-8 Ultrium format.
The cartridge provides 12TB of native storage capacity and up to 30TB with 2.5:1 data compression, reducing the number of cartridges required for large backup and archive workloads.
LTO-8 media supports transfer speeds of up to 360MB/s when used with compatible LTO tape drives, helping reduce backup and restore windows.
The cartridge uses Barium Ferrite (BaFe) magnetic media and contains 960 metres of tape with 6,656 data tracks.
LTO tape provides removable offline storage suitable for long-term data retention, backup and archival workflows where physical separation from online systems is valuable.
The cartridge follows the Linear Tape-Open Ultrium standard for use with compatible LTO Ultrium tape drives and automated tape library systems.
IBM lists LTO-8 media as read/write compatible with LTO-8 and LTO-9 drives. It is not compatible with LTO-10 drives.
This product is the standard rewritable IBM LTO-8 data cartridge with part number 01PL041. IBM also lists separate labelled and WORM variants under different part numbers.

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard IBM LTO Tape Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
