Each LTO-8 cartridge provides 12TB native / up to 30TB compressed capacity at the standard 2.5:1 compression assumption, with up to 300MB/s native throughput per fitted drive. The SymplyCABLELESS™ chassis has an available second drive position for a separately purchased compatible half-height upgrade.

The SymplyPRO Rackmount 1U LTO-8 HH SAS Tape Drive is a professional tape archive system for compatible SAS-attached workstations and servers. This exact configuration has one half-height LTO-8 drive fitted, with a second vacant half-height bay; it is not a two-drive system.
A direct 6Gb SAS SFF-8088 port connects to a suitable SAS host bus adapter (not included). This configuration does not have Thunderbolt or iSCSI host connectivity. It is an alternative to the separate Thunderbolt 3 and dual-10GbE iSCSI models, not a system that includes those connections.
Each LTO-8 cartridge provides 12TB native or up to 30TB compressed capacity, assuming 2.5:1 compression. The fitted mechanism transfers at up to 300MB/s natively. LTO-8 drives read and write LTO-8 and LTO-7 cartridges, but not LTO-6; choose the appropriate tape generation for an existing archive.
The metal 1U rackmount enclosure provides two half-height drive positions. The empty second position supports a separately purchased, compatible Symply 1U drive upgrade using the SymplyCABLELESS™ architecture. The system includes internal 350W power and rackmount cooling.
LTFS-capable workflows, compatible WORM media and AES-256 tape hardware encryption support professional long-term archiving. Application, HBA, media and host operating-system compatibility should be checked for the intended deployment.
Symply's published rackmount SAS family lists a rack kit, LTO data/cleaning media, SAS cable and power cabling, with a three-year manufacturer warranty. Confirm included items and any archive-software licences for the supplied UK SKU SYSAS-RS1L8HH2-BR; newer North American manufacturer part-number suffixes may differ.
