The ARC‑8050T5U‑12R is a 2U, 12‑bay Thunderbolt 5 rackmount hardware RAID enclosure supplied without drives, designed for demanding media and data workflows that require controller‑level performance and enterprise features.
It combines a dedicated RAID‑on‑Chip, ECC cache and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity to provide consistent throughput for multi‑stream editing, large datasets and other high‑bandwidth applications.
Performance
Built around a Dual Core ARM A15 1.6GHz RAID‑on‑Chip with 8GB DDR4‑2666 SDRAM (ECC), the controller provides true hardware RAID and on‑board cache to reduce host CPU load during heavy transfers and rebuilds.
Connectivity
The rear panel supplies 2 x Thunderbolt 5 ports and 1 x Display Port, and the unit ships with a 1m 120Gb/s active Thunderbolt™ 5 (USB‑C) cable for immediate high‑bandwidth connection to compatible hosts.
Drive Support And Expansion
The chassis supports 12 x 3.5”/2.5” 12Gb/s SAS or 6Gb/s SATA HDDs/SSDs and includes an SFF‑8644 expansion port to scale via SAS expanders (one SFF‑8644 expansion up to 512 HDDs with appropriate expanders).
Security

Areca Technology Delivery Information
In general, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on Areca equipment orders placed before 2pm (subject to stock availability).
We kindly advise you let us preconfigure each Areca RAID (as RAID5, RAID6 etc), so they arrive properly setup, ready to “plug’n’play”.
This is a free service, and takes 1-2 days prior to shipping.
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
Orders placed after 2pm on Fridays and on weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
