The Areca ARC-1886-8X is a PCIe Gen 4.0 Tri-Mode 8-port RAID adapter for mixed SAS/SATA and NVMe environments.

Areca ARC-1886-8x Product Overview
The Areca ARC-1886-8X is a PCIe Gen 4.0 Tri-Mode RAID adapter designed for high-performance storage servers and dense NVMe deployments.
It combines a Tri-Mode Dual Core ARM A15 1.6GHz ROC, 8GB on-board DDR4-2666 SDRAM with ECC Protection and 8-lane PCI Express® 4.0 host connectivity to support mixed SAS, SATA and NVMe storage.

The adapter uses a Tri-Mode Dual Core ARM A15 1.6GHz ROC and an 8-Lane PCI Express® 4.0 host interface to deliver processing for demanding database and IT applications.
Cache And Backup
Areca ARC-1886-8X has 8GB on-board DDR4-2666 SDRAM with ECC Protection and supports write-through or write-back cache modes, read/write cache allocation by policy and the ARC-1886-CBM cache protection option.
Connectivity And Connectors
The adapter is configured with 1 x SFF-8654 [x8] and 2 x SFF-8644 [x4] drive connectors and is configured with x8 SFF-8654 internal connectors for maximum performance and connectivity.
Drive Support And Density
It supports up to 512 12Gb/s SAS or 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s SAS/SATA HDDs/SSDs using 12Gb/s SAS expanders and up to 32 NVMe drives through the PCIe switches.
RAID Functionality
Areca ARC-1886-8X supports RAID Levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 30, 50, 60, Single Disk or JBOD, plus multiple RAID 0 and RAID 10(1E) configurations and advanced migration, cloning and initialization features.
Management And Monitoring
Management options include McRAID Storage Manager (web GUI), McRAID Utility (CLI), API code support, CIM provider for VMware, McBIOS Configuration Utility and a built-in EFI Shell for configuration.
Notifications And Enclosure Management
The adapter provides global HDD activity/fault connector, individual fault connector, LCD/I²C connector and alarm buzzer and supports SNMP, SMTP and enclosure management (UBM, SES-2 and SGPIO).

Areca Technology Delivery Information
In general, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on Areca equipment orders placed before 2pm (subject to stock availability).
We kindly advise you let us preconfigure each Areca RAID (as RAID5, RAID6 etc), so they arrive properly setup, ready to “plug’n’play”.
This is a free service, and takes 1-2 days prior to shipping.
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
Orders placed after 2pm on Fridays and on weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
