The Symply LTO-10 Full-Height Drive Upgrade is designed for compatible SymplyPRO 2U Gen2 rackmount systems, allowing an LTO-10 drive to be added or replaced without replacing the complete enclosure.
The Gen2 platform is available with Thunderbolt, SAS and Ethernet connectivity, while the upgrade module itself provides the LTO-10 tape mechanism used within those compatible 2U systems.
With standard LTO-10 cartridges the drive supports 30TB native / 75TB compressed capacity. Symply's current rackmount specification also confirms support for LTO-10 Enterprise cartridges using Aramid base film, increasing capacity to 40TB native / 100TB compressed without requiring a different drive.
Native transfer performance is up to 400MB/s. Symply recommends planning archive workflows around native rather than compressed figures because real-world compression depends on the data being written.
The drive reads and writes LTO-10 media only and is not backwards compatible with LTO-9 cartridges. Both standard LTO-10 media and the newer 40TB Enterprise LTO-10 cartridges are supported.
The drive supports LTFS for file-based tape workflows, WORM media for non-rewritable retention requirements, and AES-256 hardware encryption for secure long-term archive and offline backup applications.
This upgrade is intended for SymplyPRO 2U Gen2 rackmount enclosures. Current SymplyPRO Gen2 rackmount systems are offered with Thunderbolt, SAS and Ethernet connectivity; compatibility should be matched to the correct Gen2 enclosure rather than earlier 2U LTO-9 systems.
The full-height mechanism is rated for a 250,000-hour MTBF at 100% duty cycle and up to 300,000 cartridge load/unload cycles. The upgrade includes an LTO-10 data cartridge and carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Symply Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
