Built for demanding post‑production and bandwidth‑intensive workflows, the Twin25G T5 supports existing 10GbE infrastructure today and provides a path to full 25GbE operation.
Two 25GbE ports are provided via SFP28 transceivers. The adapter also offers two Thunderbolt 5 ports: one to connect to the host computer and a second that supplies 15W for a device or to connect an 8K display.
The Twin25G T5 ships with two 25GBASE-SR SFP28 transceivers, a 120 Gbps Thunderbolt 5 cable, and Sonnet's ThunderLok connector lock for secure connections.
When connected to a Thunderbolt 5 computer port, the interface supports the full bandwidth of both 25GbE ports and offers 80 Gbps of bi-directional data speed, with support for up to 120 Gbps for higher display bandwidth.
The adapter also supports 10GbE, enabling integration with 10GbE switches and storage until a full 25GbE upgrade is completed.
Twin25G uses a smart controller with onboard memory to process TX/RX data, compute TX checksums on the fly and verify RX checksums, reducing host CPU load and helping to prevent packet drops and latency.
The compact chassis supports proper airflow and a temperature-controlled, variable-speed fan to keep the adapter cool and quiet for use in noise-sensitive environments.
Supported systems include all M series Macs and Intel Macs with Thunderbolt 3 ports, and Windows or Linux computers with Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 ports.
Sonnet supplies drivers and configuration guidance. For best results, set the switch speed to Autoselect, configure the link speed to 25.0Gbps/FullDuplex where shown, and enable jumbo frames as recommended (macOS: Jumbo(9000); Windows: JumboPacket 9014).
