Designed for flexibility, the 6MN accepts NVMe (U.2/U.3), SAS and SATA drives and offers multiple management and security options while remaining compact and acoustically quiet.
The unit uses a Raid-on-Chip (ROC) storage controller with on-board SDRAM cache and ECC protection to accelerate I/O and reduce host CPU load, especially during parity calculations and rebuilds.
Connectivity for the 6MN includes 2 x Thunderbolt 5 ports and 1 x full-size DisplayPort 2.1 MF output. A 1m 120 Gbps active Thunderbolt™ 5 (USB-C) cable is included for immediate connection to compatible hosts.
The ARC-8050T5U-6MN supports NVMe x 1 (U.2/U.3), SAS and SATA drives in its six drive bays, giving a range of media and performance options suited to professional workflows.
The controller supports RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, 6, 30, 50, 60, Single Disk and JBOD, allowing configurable trade-offs between capacity, performance and redundancy.
Controller-level hardware encryption is available and the platform supports SED-based encryption; ARC-8050T5U RAID storages support 128- and 256-bit encryption keys using AES (a key size of 128, or 256 bits), or password (a variable key size).
Management options include a front-panel LCD for local configuration, in-band web management over Thunderbolt using ArcHTTP, out-of-band RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet management and Areca’s ArcSAP graphical manager plus the web-based McRAID manager.
The 6MN supports expansion via an SFF-8644 (2-lanes) interface and can be expanded with ARC-4038 12G SAS Expander units; the manufacturer documents expansion up to 512 drives using multiple 12G SAS expanders.
The ARC-8050T5U-6MN uses a single 2700rpm cooling fan with intelligent speed control and a 180W power supply; the 6MN also includes an integrated 4-pin XLR connector for +11.5 ~ 15.5V DC input.
The desktop 6-bay chassis measures 4.84 x 6.51 x 9.11 in (123 x 165.6 x 232 mm), weighs 8.0 lbs / 3.6 Kg and has a quoted sound pressure level of 37 dB, making it suitable for studio and office use.

In general, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on Areca equipment orders placed before 2pm (subject to stock availability).
We kindly advise you let us preconfigure each Areca RAID (as RAID5, RAID6 etc), so they arrive properly setup, ready to “plug’n’play”.
This is a free service, and takes 1-2 days prior to shipping.
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
Orders placed after 2pm on Fridays and on weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
