The Areca ARC-1203-4i is a four-port internal hardware RAID adapter for SATA HDDs and SSDs, combining a PCIe 2.0 x4 host interface with four 6Gb/s SATA device channels through a single internal SFF-8087 connector.
A dedicated 1066 MHz ARM-based storage processor and 1GB of DDR3-1066 ECC-protected cache offload RAID processing from the host CPU. The controller supports a broad range of RAID modes including RAID 0, 1, 10/1E, 3, 5, 6, 30, 50, 60, JBOD and Single Disk.
Designed for workstations, servers, surveillance, media production and other storage-intensive systems, the ARC-1203-4i also provides online RAID migration and expansion, hot-spare support, SMART monitoring, SGPIO enclosure management and optional battery-backed cache protection.

Areca ARC-1203-4i Product Overview
The Areca ARC-1203-4i is a low-profile four-port internal SATA hardware RAID controller designed for systems requiring dedicated RAID processing, data protection and flexible storage management.
It connects to the host through PCIe 2.0 x4 and supports up to four SATA HDDs or SSDs at up to 6Gb/s per port. A dedicated 1066 MHz storage I/O processor and 1GB DDR3-1066 ECC cache handle RAID operations independently of the host CPU.
Four-Port 6Gb/s SATA Connectivity
The ARC-1203-4i provides four internal SATA channels through one SFF-8087 connector. It supports up to four SATA HDDs or SSDs, including native 4K and 512-byte sector devices.
Hardware RAID Processing
The controller supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 10/1E, RAID 3, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 30, RAID 50, RAID 60, JBOD and Single Disk configurations. Hardware RAID processing is handled by the dedicated storage processor with ECC-protected cache.
Online RAID Management
RAID features include online array roaming, RAID-level and stripe-size migration, online capacity expansion, simultaneous capacity and RAID-level migration, volume-set growth, configurable stripe sizes up to 1MB, global and dedicated hot spares, automatic drive detection and rebuilding, and background initialization.
Drive Monitoring And Data Protection
The ARC-1203-4i supports SMART monitoring, scheduled volume checking, self-encrypting drive management, SSD automatic monitor cloning, HDD firmware updates and RAID data verification. SGPIO and serial-bus enclosure management are supported for compatible chassis and backplanes.
Cache Protection And Management
Write-through and write-back cache modes are supported, together with configurable read/write cache allocation. An optional Areca battery backup module can protect unwritten cache data during a power interruption.
Management options include McBIOS, browser-based McRAID Storage Manager, command-line tools and ArcSAP, with monitoring and notification through activity/fault indicators, alarm buzzer, SMTP and SNMP.

In general, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on Areca equipment orders placed before 2pm (subject to stock availability).
We kindly advise you let us preconfigure each Areca RAID (as RAID5, RAID6 etc), so they arrive properly setup, ready to “plug’n’play”.
This is a free service, and takes 1-2 days prior to shipping.
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between the hours of 9am and 6pm.
Orders placed after 2pm on Fridays and on weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
