The SymplyPRO Rackmount 2U LTO-9 FH SAS Tape Drive is a professional 2U rackmount tape system supplied with one LTO-9 full-height drive, expandable to a second compatible full-height mechanism. Direct-connect the rackmount system to a compatible SAS-equipped server or workstation. A suitable SAS host bus adapter is required and is not included.
An LTO-9 full-height drive provides 18TB native (45TB compressed) per LTO-9 cartridge and supports LTO-8 cartridges. Native throughput is up to 400MB/s per drive. Designed for LTFS archiving, WORM retention and AES-256 hardware encryption.

The SymplyPRO Rackmount 2U LTO-9 FH SAS Tape Drive combines a professional 2U rack-ready enclosure with one installed LTO-9 full-height tape mechanism. A second compatible full-height drive may be added later using the purpose-built SymplyCABLELESS™ upgrade architecture, providing a practical upgrade path without replacing the chassis.
A dedicated 12Gb SAS SFF-8644 host port connects to an appropriate SAS HBA in the server or workstation. The required SAS HBA is not included.
LTO-9 media holds 18TB native/45TB compressed per cartridge. This full-height drive reads and writes both LTO-9 and LTO-8 tape generations. Full-height native throughput is up to 400MB/s per drive, with compressed transfer figures depending on the compressibility of the data.
LTFS compatibility supports file-based tape workflows, while WORM media and AES-256 hardware encryption provide options for retention and data protection. Correct host connectivity, software and compatible cartridges should be selected to match the archive environment.
The 2U enclosure measures 43.5 × 48.2 × 8.8 cm and includes front-to-back cooling and an internal power supply. It is supplied with one full-height tape drive fitted, with space for a second compatible module.
