OWC USB4 Hub Product Overview

OWC USB4 Hub is a compact six-port desktop connectivity hub for USB4-equipped laptops, Macs, PCs and compatible iPad Pro systems. A single USB4 host connection carries data, display and power while the hub adds two downstream USB4 ports, two USB-C 10Gb/s ports and HDMI 2.1.

It is intended for desk-based workflows that need fast external storage, card readers, displays and other USB-C devices without moving to a larger multi-port dock.

USB4 Connectivity

The host connection supports USB4 up to 40Gb/s. The two downstream USB4 ports share up to 40Gb/s of available bandwidth, with OWC specifying up to 20Gb/s to each downstream USB4 port through the RTS5490 controller. Thunderbolt 3, 4 and 5 devices can also be connected, subject to the host and device compatibility stated by OWC.

USB-C Peripheral Ports

Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports provide up to 10Gb/s connectivity for drives, adapters and other peripherals. USB device ports can supply up to 15W to attached devices.

HDMI 2.1 Display Output

The integrated HDMI 2.1 port supports display resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz. A downstream USB4 port can support up to 4K at 240Hz; multi-display combinations and high refresh rates depend on the host, display and DSC support.

Power Delivery

The included 100W external power supply allows the USB4 host connection to provide up to 81W of laptop charging. Power is dynamically allocated between the host and connected devices, so actual host power may be lower when peripherals require more power.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

OWC lists support for USB4 and compatible USB-C hosts across macOS, Windows 11, Chrome OS, Ubuntu Linux and modern USB4-equipped iPad Pro systems. Thunderbolt 3 host compatibility is limited to Mac, while Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 5 hosts are also supported.

Desktop Design

The fanless aluminium enclosure operates without a cooling fan and includes a Kensington Nano security slot plus OWC ClingOn-ready cable-stabiliser mounts. OWC Dock Ejector software is available for safer disconnection of attached storage.

OWC Delivery Information

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard OWC Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).

Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.

Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
