The SymplyPRO 1U – LTO-9 is a professional dual-bay rackmount tape system supplied with one half-height LTO-9 drive and a choice of 12Gb SAS, Thunderbolt 3 / SAS or dual 10GbE iSCSI connectivity. The compact 1RU chassis uses SymplyCABLELESS™ technology for fast servicing and straightforward future expansion.
Each LTO-9 drive provides 18TB native / 45TB compressed capacity per cartridge with native transfer performance up to 300MB/s. LTFS support, WORM media compatibility and AES-256 hardware encryption provide a standards-based platform for secure long-term archive and offline backup.
The SymplyPRO 1U – LTO-9 provides high-capacity LTO-9 archive performance in a professional 1RU dual-bay enclosure. One half-height LTO-9 mechanism is fitted as standard and the chassis can accept a second compatible drive later, allowing capacity and throughput to scale without replacing the complete rack unit.
Three selectable interface configurations make the same LTO-9 platform suitable for SAS-attached servers, Thunderbolt workstations and shared 10GbE iSCSI tape workflows.
The SAS configuration provides 12Gb SAS through SFF-8644. The Thunderbolt configuration includes dual Thunderbolt 3 ports together with SFF-8644 SAS host and expansion ports. The Ethernet configuration presents tape resources through dual 10GbE SFP+ iSCSI and also provides SFF-8644 SAS expansion connectivity.
Each LTO-9 half-height mechanism supports 18TB native capacity per cartridge, or 45TB compressed using the standard 2.5:1 assumption, with native transfer performance up to 300MB/s. Native figures provide the most reliable planning basis because compression varies with the data set.
The 1U chassis provides two internal half-height drive positions. SymplyCABLELESS™ removes conventional internal drive cabling, simplifying servicing and allowing a second compatible LTO-9 drive to be installed using the corresponding Symply drive upgrade module.
LTFS enables file-based tape access while WORM media support and AES-256 hardware encryption provide additional controls for immutable retention, compliance, cyber-resilient backup and offline archive strategies.
The metal-alloy chassis measures approximately 43.5 × 48.2 × 4.4cm and includes an internal 350W auto-ranging power supply and professional cooling. A rack kit, LTO-9 data cartridge, cleaning cartridge, power cable and configuration-specific connectivity are supplied.
SymplyPRO rackmount systems support professional macOS, Windows and Linux archive environments and integrate with LTFS and established backup/archive applications. The system is covered by a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Symply Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
