The SymplyPRO XTL 24 LTO-8 is a compact 2U automated library with 24 cartridge slots and one half-height LTO-8 drive in the configurations offered here. Choose native 6Gb SAS, 8Gb Fibre Channel or dual 10GbE iSCSI connectivity to match your host environment.
A fully populated library provides up to 288TB native / 720TB compressed capacity. Two removable 12-cartridge magazines, a mail slot, browser management, barcode automation, partition support, AES-256 encryption and WORM capability make it well suited to unattended backup and archive operations.
The SymplyPRO XTL 24 LTO-8 is the step up from XTL 8 for users who need substantially more media capacity and a more flexible 2U platform without moving to a modular expansion chassis. It provides 24 active tape slots in two front-removable 12-cartridge magazines and supports one or two half-height drives at chassis level.
The current LTO-8 configurations offered here use one half-height LTO-8 drive with a choice of 6Gb SAS, 8Gb Fibre Channel or a Symply XTL Ethernet Module providing dual 10GbE iSCSI host connectivity. When an integrated Ethernet or Thunderbolt bridge is fitted, it occupies the upper drive bay, so the library is limited to one tape drive. Native SAS/FC configurations retain the chassis capability for a second half-height drive.
LTO-8 provides 12TB native / 30TB compressed per cartridge and up to 300MB/s native performance per half-height drive. Across 24 slots that equates to 288TB native / 720TB compressed media capacity. The library supports two logical libraries when two drives are installed, and presents its tape drive(s) and robotics through separate LUNs for host discovery.
Operational features include a front-panel interface, secure browser management, event logging, email/SNMP alerts, inventory/health reporting, remote firmware updates, barcode automation and removable magazines for fast media rotation. AES-256 hardware encryption, LTO WORM and LTFS support make the XTL 24 equally useful for conventional backup, long-term archive and offline cyber-resilience workflows. Choose XTL 24 over XTL 8 when 24 slots or future dual-drive capability matter; choose XTL 40 when modular expansion beyond the base chassis is required.

Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Symply Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
