The Sonnet Echo Express SEL Thunderbolt 5 Expansion System (ECHO-EXP-SEL-T5) is the Thunderbolt 5 version of Sonnet's compact single-slot Echo Express SEL chassis, designed for professional workflows that need one low-profile PCIe card without the size of a multi-slot expansion enclosure.
The chassis accepts one compatible low-profile, half-length PCIe card, making it suitable for compact video I/O, audio, storage and networking adapters.
The Thunderbolt 5 interface increases the PCIe bandwidth available to the installed card. Sonnet specifies up to 6800 MB/s PCIe bandwidth for its Thunderbolt 5 SEL interface on suitably capable hosts.
One Thunderbolt port connects to the host computer and the second supports compatible downstream Thunderbolt, USB and display devices, helping the system remain useful in compact single-cable workstation setups.
The SEL chassis measures approximately 10.3 × 21 × 7.3 cm and weighs around 0.84 kg, making it well suited to desks, mobile workstations and production kits where space is limited.
A variable-speed cooling fan manages airflow around the installed card, while the chassis powers on and off with the connected computer during normal use.
