Symply WORKSPACE XE – 80TB is a desktop WORKSPACE XE appliance built for collaborative media production, blending high-performance block storage with easy deployment and project-focused management.
The system is designed for cross-platform sharing and integrates with public cloud services to support hybrid workflows, secure ingest, and multisite collaboration.
WORKSPACE XE is delivered ready to go with RAID protection enabled, file system configured, and extensively tested, and is designed to be ready to use in under ten minutes from unboxing to powering on.
All WORKSPACE XE systems use high-performance Intel Xeon processor(s) and a hybrid tri-mode RAID engine to support demanding HD, 4K and 8K workflows.
Includes Project and User management as standard to create dedicated workspaces and assign access to users and teams; optional MAM upgrades add ingest, transcoding, logging, search, browser-based editing and export to AAF and XML.
Supports 10GbE, 25GbE, or 100GbE connectivity and uses an IP SAN protocol for block-level connectivity over Ethernet, presenting shared storage as a locally attached device and optimising throughput with an Ethernet driver optimised for TCP/IP protocol for large block data transfers.
The WORKSPACE desktop form-factor offers flexible HDD, hybrid, or all-flash configurations and provides an E1.S NVMe option with the ability to add up to a further 61TB of NVMe capacity via E1.S modules into the same desktop enclosure.
Offers RAID 5 or RAID 6, hot-swap disk modules, optional hot-swappable redundant SSD for the OS and software apps, multi-site sync via a public cloud cache, backups and archives to disk, tape, or cloud, quick disaster recovery, and ransomware protection.
Works with macOS, Windows and Linux clients and supports SMB and NFS shares with native Active Directory integration for enterprise user management.
