Sonnet Tempo SSD PCIe Card – Product Overview
The Sonnet Tempo SSD PCIe Card, part number TSATA6-SSD-E2, provides a compact way to install one or two 2.5-inch SATA SSDs or hard drives directly into a PCIe-equipped computer or compatible Thunderbolt-to-PCIe expansion chassis.
The drives mount physically to the card, so the solution does not require conventional internal drive bays or separate SATA data cables.
One Or Two 2.5-Inch SATA Drives
The half-length card supports one 2.5-inch SATA drive on its own. To install a second drive, the supplied extension plate is fitted to create a full-length assembly with mounting positions for both drives.
SATA 6Gb/s Connectivity
Tempo SSD supports SATA 6Gb/s, 3Gb/s and 1.5Gb/s drives, allowing use with a broad range of standard 2.5-inch SATA SSDs and compatible hard drives.
Up To 660MB/s With Two SSDs
Sonnet specifies transfer performance up to 660MB/s when two suitable SSDs are configured as a RAID 0 set, subject to the installed drives, host system and operating-system RAID implementation.
PCIe 2.0 x2 Host Interface
The card connects through a PCI Express 2.0 x2 host interface, providing sufficient bandwidth for two SATA 6Gb/s SSDs within the limits of the controller and host platform.
Software RAID Support
With two drives installed, supported macOS and Windows systems can use their native software RAID features. The card itself is not a hardware RAID controller and does not add dedicated RAID processing or cache.
AHCI And Driverless Operation
The SATA controller is AHCI compliant and Sonnet does not require a dedicated driver for normal operation on supported systems. S.M.A.R.T. drive status reporting is also supported.
Thunderbolt Expansion Compatibility
Sonnet supports the card in compatible Thunderbolt-to-PCIe expansion chassis, allowing one or two directly mounted SATA drives to be added externally to systems without an internal PCIe slot.

Sonnet Technology Delivery Information
Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Sonnet Technology Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
Orders placed on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
