OWC ThunderBay 4 is a compact four-bay Thunderbolt storage platform designed for editing, audio production, photography, backup and other professional workflows that benefit from fast, flexible RAID storage. This 80TB Enterprise configuration is supplied with 4 x 20tb enterprise 7200rpm hdds.
Each bay accepts 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDDs or SSDs, allowing the enclosure to be configured for capacity, performance or a balance of both.
Dual Thunderbolt 3 ports provide a 40Gb/s host connection, daisy-chain support and real-world performance up to 1527MB/s in suitable RAID 0 SSD configurations.
ThunderBay 4 supports RAID 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 6+, 10 and JBOD with compatible RAID software. This model includes OWC SoftRAID Premium access for RAID creation, monitoring and cross-platform workflows.
A locking front panel, active cooling, aluminium construction and support for daisy-chaining make ThunderBay 4 well suited to edit suites, studios and demanding desktop storage environments.
SoftRAID 9 Premium adds RAID 6 and RAID 6+ for dual-drive failure protection. RAID 6 and RAID 6+ require macOS 27 or later and a minimum of four drives.
