The Corning Thunderbolt 3 Optical Cable extends 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 connectivity over a 10m active optical cable, making it ideal for longer workstation, storage and machine-room installations.
It uses reversible USB-C connectors and an all-dielectric optical design for electrically isolated connectivity. The connected peripheral must be self-powered because the cable does not provide bus power.

40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 Over Optical Fibre
Corning's Thunderbolt 3 Optical Cable carries high-speed data and display traffic over a 10m optical link, providing substantially greater installation flexibility than conventional short copper Thunderbolt cables.
Designed For Long-Distance Installations
The cable is well suited to professional media, storage and machine-room workflows where noisy or heat-generating equipment needs to be positioned away from the workstation while retaining a direct Thunderbolt 3 connection.
Reversible USB-C Connectivity
Both ends use reversible Type-C connectors. Corning specifies 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 operation, Thunderbolt device daisy chaining and support for one 5K display or two 4K displays with compatible systems.
Optical Isolation And Robust Construction
The all-dielectric optical design provides galvanic isolation between connected equipment. Corning also specifies improved abrasion resistance and thermal shutdown protection for the active electronics inside the connector assemblies.
Compatibility And Power
No driver software is required. The cable is intended for Thunderbolt 3 ports and self-powered peripherals; it does not provide bus power and does not support native USB or DisplayPort operation. Corning recommends use with macOS.

Corning Delivery Information
Generally, next working day delivery services (UK Mainland) are available on standard Corning Delivery orders placed before 2 pm (subject to stock availability).
Non-timed deliveries should be delivered between 9 am and 6 pm.
Orders placed after 2 pm on Fridays and weekends will be processed as normal the following Monday.
