Rather than relying on short burst figures, the drive is specified for consistent 540 MB/s sustained read and 480 MB/s sustained write performance, helping maintain stable recording throughput across long sessions.
Maximum transfer speeds reach 560 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write, while sustained performance is rated at 540 MB/s read and 480 MB/s write. Angelbird Stable Stream technology is designed to maintain consistent read and write behaviour across the drive's capacity.
The AV PRO MK3 is certified for selected Atomos and Blackmagic Design recording workflows. Actual supported resolutions, codecs and frame rates depend on the host recorder, firmware and recording configuration, so the recorder manufacturer's approved-media guidance should be checked for the intended setup.
The 1TB model is rated for up to 2400 TBW endurance for recording use. Built-in EDC and ECC support data reliability, while temperature sensing, overload protection, TRIM, EMS protection, built-in cache and SMART provide additional monitoring and drive-management capabilities.
The drive uses a 2.5-inch, 9mm-class aluminium enclosure with Angelbird Solid Grip handling. It is specified for 1500 G storage shock and 20 G storage vibration, with operating temperatures from 0°C to 70°C and storage temperatures from -40°C to 85°C.
The SATA 3.1 interface supports 6 Gb/s operation and is backwards compatible with 3 Gb/s and 1.5 Gb/s SATA connections. For computer offloads, a suitable SATA connection or USB-C-to-SATA adapter can be used.
